If you’ve been struggling with getting reviews on Amazon FBA, this article aims to elaborate on the top tips that you’d want to use to get good seller reviews for your Amazon business.
As an Amazon seller, it is one important thing to get good seller reviews rather than good product reviews. It’s always a good idea to keep your Amazon account filled with excellent reviews for obvious reasons – more profit. If you’re curious about those and many more, then you’ve come to the right place. The information that you will find here will help you learn just that. Read on!
What is the difference between a product review VS a seller review?
Generally, 99% of all your reviews are going to be product reviews. Why? Because when people are looking at various things to buy different things to buy in the Amazon marketplace, they're going to be looking over how many stars it's got. And that's going to make a big difference in their buying decision.
Once people have found a certain product, they want to buy from really well-known brands, when people find a product that they want to purchase, they’d check who the seller is and have a look at their rankings and reviews are like, that’s where the seller reviews come in.
These are reviews for the seller’s account that say what the seller’s performance is like and a metric that people used to help their buying decisions. These seller reviews are reviews on the seller’s account, what their performance is like, rather than the specific product that people are buying.
Why should you care about Amazon seller reviews?
To understand why you have to pay attention to your Amazon seller reviews, we first have to understand one of the basic principles that Amazon uses the seller reviews for your sales. This is the Buy box. The decision they make can affect your ability to make sales. When multiple sellers are offering the same product, Amazon has a way of determining which seller will make the sale when a customer clicks the Buy box. While the exact algorithm used by Amazon is unknown to the Amazon seller, positive reviews can certainly help increase your chances of winning that buy box.
What review software to use in Amazon Arbitrage?
There will always be people who tend to bend the rules, who go off the beaten path, and use software outside of Amazon’s terms and conditions and seem to have success with those. Only because Amazon is lenient with them at the time that they choose to use them. But that is not always the case. Amazon can become strict without warning and choose to start banning or suspending accounts that they deem to be unfit. We advise you to always follow Amazon's terms and conditions, even if they are loosely enforced.
The single location where I recommend you find the software you want to use on Amazon is the Amazon Seller Central Application Marketplace. Why? Because these are specific applications for this specific purpose, made specifically for use in the Amazon marketplace. What we do know is if it’s in the Amazon Seller Central Application Marketplace, you’ll be sure that they are within Amazon’s terms and conditions.
How to view the list of software Amazon recommends
Step 1: Choose "Apps & Services" from your Seller Central account dashboard
Step 2: Click "Discover Apps"
Step 3: Click "Feedback and Reviews"
Step 4: Choose your software of choice
An app I recommend is SellerBoard, as I have personally used it and found it to be very helpful. If you’re a new seller, having access to such a tool can be extremely beneficial. I have an affiliate link with Sellerboard which will give you a longer free trial time.

How to write seller feedback emails?
If you ever find yourself needing to write a seller feedback email, Amazon has done a wonderful job of creating guidelines on how an Amazon third-party seller should communicate with their customers.
Quite a numerous amount of people may not actually be following these communication guidelines set by Amazon, but it is always better to go by the rules, even if the rules aren’t strictly enforced. It is best to follow all of Amazon’s terms and conditions.
Open up Sellerboard and go to AutoResponder. What we’re going to do is to create a copy of the actual email that is forwarded to you. Within the message template tab, you’ll want to paste an HTML provided by Sellerboard which will turn the review into a seller review. The link to the HTML can be found here.
Once in the Sellerboard Message template in the earlier steps, click edit HTML and you can edit and select this specific text and delete it.
And paste this code which you’ll receive from the link above.
This will change the button to “Leave a short feedback”, which will lead the customers to a seller review prompt, instead of a product review prompt. We want to make sure that when they leave the feedback, they’ll be sending seller feedback instead of product feedback. Top tips on how to get Amazon seller reviews
1. Social media
As we all know, social media provides an excellent opportunity for businesses to increase the number of customer opinions about their products or services. A useful strategy for achieving this is by periodically launching campaigns targeted at your followers on platforms like Twitter and Facebook, motivating them to share their experiences and leave feedback.
2. Amazon Review Services
For Amazon sellers, the lack of reviews on new products can be challenging because, without reviews, potential customers are less likely to purchase the product. To better address this, Amazon has created two product review programs: the Amazon Vine and the Early Reviewer Program.
What's the difference?
The Amazon Vine program is a quick way for Amazon sellers to add product reviews to a listing. Many sellers choose to participate in Amazon Vine just before launching a new product to ensure that there are already product reviews on the listing when it becomes available. Meanwhile, the Early Reviewer Program helps sellers accumulate reviews for new products by randomly selecting buyers for participating products and requesting reviews.
A lot of successful people are open to all kinds of reviews and feedback, whether it will be positive or negative. What matters is understanding how to use those negative reviews on Amazon to improve your product and your product or service.
3. Create a mailing list and request customers to leave reviews
Amazon typically sends a generic email requesting customer feedback after a purchase. To make a more meaningful impact on customers, you can send a personalized review request. It should send shortly after the customer receives the product, while the positive experience is still fresh in their mind.
As mentioned in the previous part of this article, you can use tools to send customized feedback request emails to customers automatically, which you should take advantage of.
4. Provide a great customer experience
Many negative reviews on Amazon come from consumers feeling deceived or misled about a product. To avoid this, it’s essential to be honest and upfront about what you’re selling. Providing accurate and precise information about your product can help avoid any confusion or false expectations that may lead to negative reviews.
You can do this by being transparent about the features, size, weight, color, and limitations of your product. With this, you can ensure that customers have realistic expectations before making a purchase.
5. Follow the rules
Product reviews on Amazon are highly valued, and Amazon takes that very seriously. In extreme cases, Amazon sellers may even face suspension from the platform for engaging in review manipulation. To avoid negative consequences, it’s crucial to understand the difference between legitimate methods for acquiring reviews and bad methods that violate Amazon’s policies.
By utilizing ethical and legal review generation strategies, your business can effectively boost its review count and reputation without putting your Amazon account in jeopardy.
